A clone of the Sola Sound/Vox Tone Bender MkIII germanium fuzz.
Knobs control Level, Tone and Attack (fuzz) while the toggle switch rolls of some low end when the Tone control is turned to the bass side. Very versatile fuzz, especially with the Tone control, which can go from dark and heavy to a trebly, ripping fuzz. Also modded for extra volume.
Usually built using AC125 or 2N404 germanium transistors, carefully selected for gains. Other transistors may also be used depending on availability. It also uses high quality BC Component electrolytics, Ero Vishay caps, metal film resistors, enclosed Switchcraft jacks, and Alpha pots. It can be built using point-to-point construction on tagboard or on veroboard.
It’s a positive ground circuit which can run on a 9v battery or a 9v power supply if a voltage converter is fitted to the circuit on request (veroboard only). The voltage converter allows the power supply to be daisy-chained with other effects.
